Writer's Block
Sep. 22nd, 2026 02:55 pmThe screen glows in the dark room.
The cursor blinks waiting
Waiting for the words that don’t come
It’s time to write
The writing must get done
Yet, the words won’t flow
Looking around, her eye catch the clock on the bottom of the screen.
She has less then 3 hours to get this paper submitted
And an empty screen.
She grabs her phone and sees multiple miss calls.
“Nick” she softly sighs as she calls him
“Finally! Bree, we got a problem” his strong voice cried out as he starts to ramble about a water pipe burst at the store he works at … which made her think of that summer spent in Hawaii when she was 16.
As he rambled on, she grabbed the laptop as the words started to flow faster than she was able to type.
As she calmed him down and outlined the next steps, she hit submit.
Will her professor like it? She’s not sure.
But this latest issue at the store (and trust her, there have been many of them since Nick started working there) has cured her writer’s block….for now.
